Snickerdoodle Cookies
My husband celebrates another year around the sun tomorrow, and he absolutely loves Snickerdoodle cookies so we thought we'd give these a crack.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I popped them in the oven- make sure to give them about 2 inches of space because they spread a bit. They are SO good! The outsides are delicate and crisp and the inside is so deliciously chewy. These are now one of our favorite cookies!
Snickerdoodles
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 ¾ cup flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls. Mix sugar and cinnamon, roll balls in mixture. Bake at 400ยบ for 8-10 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
